transmission safety equipment

want transmission protection. I have a 69 chevelle 406 th400 i'm wanting to put either a blanket on or maybe a shield. the car has stock floorpan and an automatic floor shifter with cable. any advice would be appreciated. thanks.

Short of pulling your tranz, a blanket will be the easiest, should you need a flexplate shield, that also might be a chore while its in the car. :nice:

watch along highway and get some tire treads and bolt to bottom of the car .////they are tough /// I rember people doing that on the dirt track cars yrs. ago before safety was a concern //// LOL

thanks for the reply guys. I found some car tread on the side of the road and put them on. It was a drag radial tire so I'm hoping I'll be a little faster. Hope to find out at the memorial weekend race. Thanks again.
