1976 f250 4x4 "highboy". this truck runs and drives. still needs work to be a good driver, although i have been driving it as it is.
a short background of the truck...
i bought it last year to have a 4x4 for the winter from a guy in nevada, who is as crooked as they come. said, "one of the hubs must be stuck, i use it all the time." as an excuse as to why the 4x4 didn't work. i replaced the entire front carrier, gears, and yoke, as well as kingpin bearings, outer axle bushings, wheel bearings, seals and put in new warn lockouts before i tried to tag the truck.... only to find out the title didn't match the truck. shame on me for not checking, again.
so, i bought a 77 f150 ranger from my brother and put the cab on it. tagged and currently black tagged as a 77 f150.
the motor is a 2wd FE. i won't pretend to know what size, runs strong. dual 2" glasspacks. has an exhaust leak. c6, divorced 203. dana 60/dana 44 (non hd) closed knuckle front. has some 305/70r16 maxxis tires on it now.
the cab has some rust in the cab corners and pass floor is thin. looks like a heater core leaked for a long time. has a later model for bench seat. body is pretty straight. has a flatbed on it that is pretty rough, gas tank on the bed.
aside from the whole front axle build, i've but a new distributor in, new starter, all new cables ground and positive, new heater core, fresh antifreeze, new power steering pump, new fuel pump, cleaned up the carb about 10 times before i finally put a different gas tank on it.
it needs a power steering cylinder to get the power steering working. found that out when i put the new pump on. the sensing cylinder seems to work well and doesing leak. (has the ram assist hyd steering)
the lights in the dash are not working, as well as the gauges except oil pressure. i assume because i changed out the guage pack and didnt put the old printed circuit back on, which i have on the shelf. the blinkers are funny... sometimes they don't work. particularly when the headlights are on.. unsure of the cause there.
lastly, the battery seems to be getting drained from time to time. sometimes it can sit for weeks and start up, other times if goes dead overnight. thinking a short in the wiring under the flatbed.
i have about 2400 bucks in this truck already, but have lost interest in doing the cummins swap i intended. i have so many projects, very little time, and not much more money so i'm ready to let this one go for the greater good.

i have an edelbrock 4bbl intake i would throw in on the right deal.
either the alternator is bad, or the voltage regulator isn't working. jump it and drive it home for $1500 bucks. price will go back up if i have to put an alternator on it. i'm already losing my *** on it.
i may also trade all, partial, or cash on my end for motor and/or trans. built pontiac, bbc, bbf, sbc. wheels/tires for a 98 trans am. 17x9 dodge nv4500 and transfer case for a cummins. bolt in ready 9" for 70-81 fbody. good blow through carb for gasoline, carb hat.
put an alternator on it. charging and starting great. replaced a tail light. blinkers are now working also. accelerator pump is pretty weak, may put a new one in and see if that helps. needs shocks on the back. price is $1700.
ready to drive to somebodys house. come and get it.
