Yes you have to sign up and pay the entry(15 or 20 bucks I think) before they will start keeping a record of your points. You get 35 points to enter each points race and 10 points for each round win. At the end of the season, you take your best ten races for points and throw out the rest. Hope that helps.

Where do we sign up, when we come in at the gates?

Usually just go to the tower ......any time before eliminations start. Or you can go ahead and sign up early if you go to a test & tune (or the gold card)before the first points race. Forgot to mention you also get one extra point for a runner-up finish and two extra points for a win.

Do you have to have a permanent number to be able to points race, and if so how does one go about getting a permanent number? Is a number assigned, or can a certain number be requested if no one else is using it?
