what about a vaccum leak ///intake gaskets or a vaccum line letting it suck air and not fuel air mix thru the carb

Yep, did this too. Hydrolic with roller rockers. Checked the springs & rockers/valves to make sure nothing had somehow backed off. Everything seemed fine.

I tried to check these the best I could. Put on a new base gasket, just because. Sprayed every connection or gasket area with carb cleaner & got no reaction of any sort, so I don't think this is it.

@#$%&, maybe it's a bigger issue than I thought.

Well, I just went ahead & pulled everything. Intake gaskets were excellent. No sign anywhere of a leak. No broken springs. No bent pushrods, yep I pulled them too. I'm going to move on down & check to make sure it didn't jump time or something. s***, I wasn't doing worth a crap in the points anyway. 8 races & 4 of them I didn't even make an elimination pass because the car kept screwing up.

What is the car doing, that is not right?
What is the Battery voltage, sitting, at idle, reved up?
What is the Dist Batt +, ign on, at idle, reved up?
Black plugs could be fouled, and misfire even after changing Carb, and Dist.
Broke valve spring, Cam going bad, or even Vacuum, or Egr leaking. Will a Vacuum Gauge read correct, at idle, and down track?
Does a Timing Light flash, show a misfire? If so, which ign wire?
Is the fuel pressure correct, at idle, and down track?
Does a Comp test show good on all cylinders?
With a Reluctor pickup, if it drops just one cylinder, it can cause the others to misfire!

Well, got around to doing a compression check today. Every cylinder was between 190/200. Guess that is ok?

Have you pinpointed the culprit yet? Was wondering if you have found what it was. Thanks

Not 100% sure at all. I don't usually use the front & back intake seals. I use permatex. When I started to clean up the old rear seal, there was a piece about 3/8" that was missing. I don't know if it had blown out or if I tore it out getting the intake off. I guess I will find out, if I can ever get time to work on it again.

Could be a vacuum leak. Spray alittle wd40 or Carb cleaner around Carb seeif idle changes
If it stops being fun it's time to quit
