There are a few threads on YB worth reading.

http://www.yellowbullet.com for those who don't know what YB is.

Monty sold YB too.

I just hate seeing a show that condones street racing....Plenty of people already get killed every year from street racing..Now there will be more because they saw it on TV and figured they better give it a shot....

come on you old guys cant tell me you haven't ever thrown down on the street back in the day. street racing is like any other bad things out there they are going to do it at least they trying to be as safe as possible. I would rather put up with street racers than drunk drivers. but theres no way to keep drunk drivers off the road and street racing will never go away. I am sure there will a lot of people be mad about my statement but. let the first person that has never sinned be the first to through the first stone :layrubber:

The cars we street raced as young punks were at best 13 second cars. There were a few high 12 second cars that would play occasionally. We always looked for untraveled smooth roads with great visibility and no crossroads.

12 second cars with no safety equipment? Granted those cars are probably 140+ 1/8th mile cars, but they have ALOT more safety equipment

I don't condone street racing either, but like what was said earlier, nearly everyone has done it at one point in time.

Definitely don't condone it. I'm just saying we were young and dumb then.

Back then MOKAN was open about every other weekend. We did get a lot of time runs in as it was a free for all as far as time runs go. There wasn't any type of test n tune/ fun drags at a cheap price like now. Just race days of Bracket 1 and 2 plus Trophy and Motorcycle.

The problem with that show is now the kids with cars will now just race on the street without even thinking about taking it to the track to a safe environment. Yes I did street race when I was younger and would go back in time and slap myself if given the chance. Like with the Fast and Furious movies imitation of what they see on tv isn't always a good thing. I also don't like how the channel is showing that illegal racing is ok and maybe might even get u on tv. Yes the cars have all the safety equipment but they never emphasize that. Its only breaking the law and cashing in. It even killed one of the guys at the beginning of the show

are you talking about Flip? Tyler "Flip" Priddy, didnt die in a street racing accident, he took his own life, dont start the rumor about him dying in a street racing accident, the el camino he drove is still in Chiefs shop

I stand corrected. That's just what I was told. Not into starting rumors. I don't feel that street racing is a good idea no matter how "Safe" the car is. I bet that the others on the road at the time don't have cages and harnesses in their cars and wearing helmets. Just my opinion and again didnt mean to step on toes by misquoting what I was told.

I was wondering what happened to Flip, I presumed the Tornado got him. Sorry to hear he went that way.

I can't stand Street outlaws the cars are cool but I truly wonder how fast they really are. I think they are too chicken to go to a track to see for sure how fast. I know the old truck runs in the 10s Ive seen it on youtube but the track is a totally different ball game. My car only runs high 12s or low 13s but the old Falcon is fun to drive and my kids like it so thats enough for me. Most of the street outlaw guys trailer theirs to the race that is not true street racing I drive mine to the KAN when I race I think it is a win no matter how the night goes if I am able to drive it home after a night of tearing up the track.

I watch just for the cars, besides that the rest sucks like most of the crap on TV. I bet there are more young looking at getting a fast street car than something for the track. It does not help when people and Government shut down a track like KCIR, that many raced at.
