11.00 and slower

Postby kirk on Sun Mar 02, 2014 5:12 pm

Im not new to watching drag racing, but I am however new to competing. My first question is: If your car runs 11.00 or slower do you have to have any kind of special license or anything to compete. Im wanting to get in some practice runs at the Fun Drags if the weather will ever get right. Im probably going to run in the Sportsman class, or maybe No-E class. Second question: Can I put my own permanent number on my car along with my name? These are silly questions for the experienced racer, but like I said Im new to competition, and probably going to have many other questions. Thanks for any help, and info.

  • No special license required.
  • As long as you follow the basic safety rules(Located HERE) you should be fine for fun drags or Sportsman or No-E.
  • Yes, you can put whatever number you want. If someone else has it already you would probably need to change it.

If you let me know what number you have in mind, I'll let you know if anyone else has it.

Kirk, what number are you wanting? Gena can check it against her points list to see if it's in use before you have numbers cut.

Gena will know if those are available.

As for height, 4" is tall enough. Up to 6" would be good. We like for them to be on the driver's side glass and on the passenger side of the windshield. If you are going to be running at other tracks it is a good idea to put them on the passenger's side glass and rear window too.
